My Family Experience With Lawsuits

A few years ago maybe more than 14 years, my uncle was in a car accident. With him was my cousin and his daughter around 10 at the time and she was badly injured. One of the worst injuries being a huge wound in her forehead.

The accident was the fault of the other driver, who had run a red light when he crashed into them. There was a lawsuit which my uncle won. He didn’t want to take anyone to the cleaners or take all they have had. That is not how my family thinks or operates.

He only wanted payment for his daughters medical expenses then and in the future. He recieved a payment, somewhere around $100,000. To this day my grandmother his mother still rants at lawyers, because when they were done, he wasn’t even left with half of that money to pay for his child’s medical care.

I know not all lawyers are bad people, but unless I am really pushed for it to fight for a cause, lawsuits and lawyers are something I hope to never have to deal with.
