Pyramid Scam Class Action Lawsuit
June 11, 2006
Now this is a lawsuit I would consider on the good side of things. Pyramid schemes happen frequently and the guilty party simply move away and open shop in another city, state, or country. This time however a number of alleged victims have teamed up to slap a class action suit against Eli Ohayon.
He is accused of selling products in a multi-level marketing operation and literally bilking people out of thousands of dollars. The problem is that the customers were supposed to be buying these goods at below retail price so that they resell them for a profit but they later find out that they themselves paid retail for the products so there is no way to make money. Who is going to buy a $10 product for $20? The lawyers say that they do not expect Ohayon and the other defendants named in the lawsuits to even show up for the court date. Scammers tend to do that.
